Nowadays, the profit is essential factor of a successful business. There is ongoing debate that a company's goal is to maximize revenues at all costs. Although someone agree with this statement, I completely disagree with that as it can lead to illegal and unethical activities. This essay will explain the reasons why I think that.
To begin with, the profits can be source of motivation to provide for businesses effort. When people starting up, they also have many goals in their mind, but there must be some borders to control their activities. Firstly, illegal rules are the choice that make entrepreneurs don’t allow to break the law and earn legal revenue. This can be illustrated by the example that a business of drugs like hashish and marijuana is not permitted anywhere in the world. One reason for this is that these have negative effects on human health when using, so they aren’t allowed to sell.
Secondly, despite claims that businesses with high profits can promote the economy of a country, should always consider the bad impact of a business on society. If there is illegal activities and improve more employee opportunities, that business bring so much benefits for citizens and government and don’t need to start a inspections. One other aspect is to avoid corruption in business, it means many businesses make profits by a unfair method that is never an acceptance activity. Evidence for this is provided by some low-quality products, these are sold in the market. As a result, that affect negatively to human health, so actions should deal strictly.
In conclusion, although making profits are the right goal of the businesses, there are illegal and unethical activities to generate revenue that is not acceptable and should tackle these as quickly as possible.
