The impact of human activity on plant and animal species has become an increasing concern over the past few decades. While some believe that it is too late to reverse the damage that has been done, I think that effective measures can still be taken to improve the situation.
On the one hand, some argue that human activities have irreversibly harmed plant and animal populations, rendering further action ineffective. The reason is that some species became extinct before humans took action. For example, dinosaurs: more than 65 years ago, an asteroid hit the earth, and that is why dinosaurs became extinct. This proves that most animals and plants are not extinct because of humans.
On the other hand, I think that using measures to limit it is possible; we can protect endangered species. Opponents believe that people can apply measures to improve environmental problems. First, the government can enact laws to prohibit illegal activities that cause threats to natural habitats. For example, factories cannot discharge toxic substances into rivers, streams, etc. If caught, there will be heavy fines. Moreover, we can build sanctuaries for hunted animals or plant trees to restore deforested areas, protect dying animals, and restore the ecosystem. As a result, many species can be saved in time and avoid extinction.
In conclusion, although both sides have some fundamental reasons, I think that humans should have the responsibility to protect wildlife by complying with environmental regulations and restoring nature, which not only protects the environment for animals but also for humans.
