In recent years, the issue of pollution has gained significant attention. One prominent viewpoint suggests that raising tax on various industries can limit pollution. This is predicated on the fact that when the government applies higher taxes, operators of industries, such as manufacturing or tourism, will decrease the released amount of carbon dioxide during the operating process. This, according to this theory, ultimately results in lessening the contamination.
However, this reason is not sound because despite the hiking of taxes, the head of an industry will keep thriving their business to cover taxes. Admittedly, there is a more effective way to enhance the environmental quality that is the authority to encourage citizens to use the alternative energy. Solar energy, wind energy and tidal wave energy are some of the renewable power that commonly use on a worldwide level.
In Vietnam, a wealth of families have installed solar batteries so as to provide energy for their daily activities. If the government can persuade inhabitants to utilize the alternative energy on a mass scale, minimizing the emitted toxic gas will be far more efficient than applying higher taxes on various industries.
Therefore, even though applying higher taxes could also be a method to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide, its results might not surpass using the other energy way.
