Some folks assume that high academic institutions should be provided for all pupils. However, some claim that higher education should be available only to students who perform well. In my opinion, I agree with the former for the reasons.
The first rationale for my view is that expanding access to tertiary education benefits society as a whole in numerous ways. College or higher education provides individuals with knowledge and skills that help to foster personal and social development. In addition, by providing equal opportunities for learning and growth, young people will have more promotions in their jobs and fulfilling lives. Moreover, this will enhance innovation and develop the economy. For instance, the government will not have to shoulder the burden of supplying allowances for the unemployees because they cannot pursue their learning.
Secondly, the reasons I am opposed to the opinion that academic education is only for good students are the risks of perpetuating social injustice. The competence of one individual should not be appreciated by their performance or distinction in school but by their forte, passion, and perseverance in learning. Therefore, restraining people from tertiary institutions will limit their creativity and talent. Furthermore, this will encourage the development of a substantial socio-economy.
