The line graph illustrates how many cars were owned in the UK between 1975 and 2005.
Overall, there was an increase in the propotion of people who owned two or three cars, with two cars witnessing the most dramtic rose, while the figures for those who owned no car decline. In addition, having one car consistently had by far the highest figures throughout the period, even though a considerable decline was seen in the first half of the period.
The number of people having one car started at 45% in 1975, after which it experience a decline to arounf 37% in 1985, before ending the period at nearly 45%. A similar change was seen in the figures for having no car, which decreased from 43% to 25% in the fisrt 10 years, but continued reduced and ending at 22% in 2005. 7% of people owning 2 cars in UK in 1975, with a subsequent significant rose to nearly 15% and final reach a peak of roughly 18% in 2005. Finally, the figures for 3 cars saw similar changes, exploding during the period and hit a hight of nearly 9% at the end of the period.
