In recent years. the situation of traffic congestion is becoming a severe problem in some countries in the world. This essay will first outline the different reasons behind this phenomenon before suggesting some viable measures.
Traffic jams could stem from two main factors including an increase in the population density and a poor planned road systems. One in particular is that in this modern era, the number of people live in some inner cities is increasing constantly and becoming dense, which leads to an increasing number of vehicles. People tend to use private vehicles such as private cars and private motorbikes, especially in the developing countries. The more vehicles are used, the more the state of traffic jams increases. Another factors contributing to this is that the degradation of road systems. Streets are in the situation of poor planned. There are not only many pot holes or cracks in the streets because of the lack of regular maintenance but also lack of facilities such as traffic signs or traffic lights and even zebra crossing lines which helps ensure the safety of traffic pedestrians. And this becomes one of the most common reason that increases accident rates and traffic congestion. This is the reason why traffic jams becomes an alarming issue for the local authorities and the government.
Various actions. however, should be taken by the national leaders and policy makers in order to tackle the problem of traffic jams. A possible measure for this is that it is necessary for the government to encourage people to resettle in the countryside, which would minimise population density and becomes a part of reduce traffic jams within the cities and towns. Furthermore, it is important to be good at the process of planning road systems by the way to build more overpasses and underpasses and widen current streets. This can make commuting easier and facilitate traffic flow, therefore, it is possible to reduce traffic jams. Another solution could be for the government to regularly maintain road systems and carry out vehicle inspections. By this way, traffic congestion is not an essential issue in the county.
In conclusion, the problem of traffic jams can be attributed to two main reasons ( including a large number of vehicles and poor planned road systems), which calls for several feasible remedies to be adopt.
