The given bar chart illustrates the proportion of men and women teachers working in six different educational sectors in the UK namely Nursery, Primary School, Secondary School, College, Private Training Institute and University in the year 2010.
It is clear that the figure for female teachers working in Primary School and Secondary School witnessed an upward trend white the opposite was true for Private Training Institute and University. It is noticeable that the highest percentage belonged to female teachers working in Nursery in the year 2010.
As can be seen from the chart, the figure for male and female teachers working at College was equal at 46%. Moreover, there was 58% male teachers working at Private Training Institute whereas the number of female teachers choosing this sector was significantly lower, with 40%. In addition, the figure for male teachers working at University was 70%, compared to 30% female ones.
On the other hand, in 2010, nearly 95%, 90% and 58% of female teachers opted for Nursery, Primary School and Secondary School respectively. By contrast, the figure for male teachers witnessed a sharp fall, dropping to 5%, 7% and 41% accordingly.
