In contemporary times, it is believed that all the income individuals earn should be kept and not pay tax to the government. In my opinion, I totally disagree with this statement, and I will delineate it in the following essay.
The rate of happiness in a country can be decreased if individuals do not pay tax to the state. It is clear that the government expenditures usually depend on the resident’s tax, thus if individuals withhold their tax contributions, potentially leading to the decrease in this figure. Therefore, the government would face substantial financial constraints, rendering it challenging for the government to invest in community services such as hospitals, recreational activities or educational institutions. This cannot facilitate the increasing demands of residents, preventing them from experiencing such that services. As a result, this contributes to widespread dissatisfaction among residents, leading to the diminish of well-being rates in a country. For example, due to the shortage of space as well as facilities, sport lovers may have a sense of discouragement to take workouts.
In addition, taxes are an important tool in maintaining economic stability. The government often rely on tax revenue to fund large-scale projects such as infrastructure development, which in turn stimulates economic growth. During turndowns, taxes provide the necessary financial resources for the government to support those in need, stabilizing the economy. Therefore, without tax revenue, the government can struggle to address crises and long-term projects, leading to the economic deterioration. This may cause the decrease in employment rates, affecting to the residents’ income levels. Consequently, it is challenging for them to afford fundamental living costs, contributing to lower living conditions.
In conclusion, the absence of taxes not only affects residents’ living conditions which decreases the happiness rates within a country but also poses risks to nation’s stability and development
