It is important to focus on the issue of the escalation of public transport prices as it directly concerns the well – being of individuals and societies. The following essay will explore the reasons and suggest effective measures to tackle them.
To begin with, the rising cost of public transport prices can be attributed to some factors. The key rationale is the escalating cost of global fuel. Most public transport systems, whether buses, trains and the like, still depend on fossil fuels which are subject to price volatility due to geographical tensions and limited reserves. For example, the Russia-Ukraine conflict spurred a global energy crisis, leading to significant price surges. This war's impact on the prices of petroleum and oil in Vietnam which soared to the highest point, at 35.000 VND/ per liters. Another compelling reason is the advancement of technology which enhances the quality and safety of commuters, requiring colossal investment. The expenditure spent for adopting high technology like digital payment systems or real-time tracking apps, can do a wonder for customer’ experiences. Hence, transport agencies have to raise the fires in order to cover the expenses.
There is no denying that the intervention of the government can handle this issue. Firstly, the state officials have to distribute finance evenly for subsidizing the public transports. As a result, transport agencies can have the funds they have at their disposal to maintain and upgrade the public transports. Secondly, the authorities put effort to promote incentives transforming eco-friendly public transports such as electric buses which utilize carbon-free energy like solar or hydropower energy. This leads to limiting the dependency of fossil fuel and controlling the prices without burden on passengers.
In conclusion, the prices of public transports are on the increase which are driven by a sheer volume of factors. However, the strategy of the government can tackle the issue by supporting the transport agencies to subsidize and promote eco-friendly transports.
