In this contemporary era, interacting with others is of importance; therefore, managers are increasingly recognizing the utilization of social skills in the workplace. There is an opinion that while employees are excellent at social skills, good certificates are equally vital to obtain a successful career. From my perspective, I completely agree with this statement.
On the one hand, the role of interactive skills cannot be disregarded. Good interactive skills are instrumental in long-lasting relationships with co-workers, indeed counterparts. For instance, in the discussions and transactions with business partners, communicating can create not only sincerity and loyalty but also a close link with consumers, facilitating promoting the progression of enterprises. In addition, proper communication can be the deciding factor of high teamwork productivity. In fact, the success of companies is almost always achieved via group projects. Thus, effective teamwork by generating a pleasant work environment and reinforcing the faith among members provides organizational values.
On the other hand, I maintain that qualifications are indispensable to seek a high-earning job. The first justification is that recruiters assess suitability for a role before hiring through degrees and certificates. As they are the measurement of an individual's knowledge and skills, bachelor’s degree holders would be prioritized over the others who have lower theoretical foundation and practical experiences. Furthermore, several highly-knowledgeable occupations require a high educational level. This case can be exemplified by doctors. In order to become an official doctor, they have to achieve a master degree at least, after that they have the capacity to pursue further education to work at a hospital.
In conclusion, interpersonal skills cannot pale in comparison to the necessity of qualifications. For someone who is highly-qualified to be an expert in the profession, alongside having a good communication skill would surely have a great career in the future.
