In the digital era, there are some secondary schools that provide universal education by teaching a range of subjects. However, I suppose that solely focusing on a narrow range of vocational subjects would be suitable today due to its potential benefits.
First and foremost, compulsory subjects in schools ,such as Math, Literature, Science, may affect students' future intentions by excessively focusing on score achievement; providing a wide range of vocational knowledge tends to equip them with essential skills for their future career paths. Because of specialized teaching methods, this can allow students to improve their skills and develop experience in typical fields. For instance, in Germany’s vocational training system, people, who specialize in engineering, begin apprenticeships while they are pre graduates. Therefore, they can easily transform immediately to the real workforce.
Furthermore, equipping students with some related career subjects tends to increase the employment rate of the country. For instance, in some recent years, the number of students who are employed after graduating in Switzerland has spiked. This will be perfectly exemplified by the case of focusing on tailoring students’ knowledge to the industries’ demand in some Switzer schools. Therefore, Switzer students study in vocational programs ,such as healthcare, information technology and pedagogy, resulting in high job placement rates.
In conclusion, specializing in typical vocational subjects will help students prepare for their future jobs and equip them with adequate skills to meet the industries’ demand. Moreover, the employment rate also increased significantly. Therefore, governments should promote national schools to adapt this new transformation in teaching methods.
