Some people believe that every human can create art. Other people think that art can only be created by people with special talents. Discuss both view and give your opinion

With the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence and the increasing visual literacy, people no longer perceive composing art as an esoteric ability. However, others argue that amateur pieces are dedicated for individual purposes, contradicting the true essence of art which emphasizes meaningful messages with an immersive impact. In my opinion, I agree with the latter view and believe that generating artworks should be subject to creators with inborn talent.

From the perspectives of many people, everyone can participate in the art generating process without special ability. In this day and age, the advent of generative AI has revolutionized our thinking about the creative industry since aesthetically pleasing artworks are now algorithmically generated by user prompts only. In other words, not having a knack of art, people can still produce their work by inputting prompts into models. To be more specific, the models will analyze users’ input texts, incorporating several machine learning techniques to decode those texts into images. This generating process is timelessly repeated and has become the brain behind a large number of visually impressive and impactful images on the Internet. For instance, if users want to create an artwork that aligns only for their personal use, they can leverage the brilliant generating ability of ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion to meet their needs. In addition to this point, the increasing embrace of art also accompanies with more people knowing how to produce art. That said, the more visually literate people are, the more people pursue artwork endeavors. As revealed by recent research, five out of ten people who were asked about future careers answered that they want to pursue artistic disciplines such as singers, actors, and musicians. This trend directly leads to the prevalent ability of composing art among people, therefore, art generation is not exclusive to professional creators anymore.

However, observing only the surface of the problem while neglecting a broader picture of the essence of art will be a short-sighted approach. From my perspective, although artificial intelligence can generate art, that’s not genuine from their creative endeavor. Given that the essence of art prioritizes disseminating subliminal messages and creativity to a wide range of people, automatic-generated artworks clearly contradict it. As revealed by many big tech corporations, models are trained on billions of tokens, details, composing styles of many prominent artists, and poems to generate. In other words, they are not an independent creative entity, but more or less an imitator. Computerized models are equipped with technical abilities to visualize users' imagination into real images but their artworks often lack creativity and novelty which are the instrumental elements constructing a brilliant artwork. Hence, most of their artworks have a short-term impression with a low opinion from experts and the society. In contrast, creative endeavors of gifted artists, combined with their lofty passion and dignity, could bring a new lease of life into both the industry, inspiring people’s life. If we no longer have qualified creators, not only will the artificial intelligence age meet a disappointing end but also deteriorate our art industry. Moreover, as we observed many prominent artists in history, what sets gifted creators apart from others is the quality they produce. While amateur generated arts have the dim view of revolutionizing the industry and they mostly serve as a form of self-entertainment, highly-qualified pieces produced by skillful creators, in contrast, are dedicated to the greater good of humanity. Evidenced by the Mona Lisa painting of Leonardo Da Vinci, its messages have echoed for centuries after the talented painter died and left an indelible mark on human civilization.

In summary, everyone is now gifted with the ability to create art, thanks to the advancement of technology and the increased visual education. However, I still believe it remains within the realms of talented artists whose artworks align seamlessly with the essence of art and leave a massive impression on human history

With the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence and the growing visual literacy, people no longer view artistic composition as an esoteric ability. Yet, some argue that amateur creations are intended for personal purposes, diverging from the true essence of art, which emphasizes conveying meaningful messages with a profound impact. In my view, I side with the belief that the creation of artworks should be reserved for those with innate talent.

Many argue that anyone can engage in the artistic process without requiring special talent. In today’s world, generative AI has transformed our perception of the creative industry, as aesthetically pleasing artworks are now algorithmically generated solely through user prompts. Essentially, lacking artistic aptitude does not prevent people from producing their own works by feeding prompts into AI models. These models analyze user input texts, employing various machine learning techniques to decode these texts into images, a process repeated continuously. This advancement has led to a proliferation of visually striking and impactful images online. For example, users seeking personalized artworks can leverage the creative capabilities of AI models like ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion.

Moreover, the increasing appreciation of art is accompanied by a growing number of people who can produce art. As people become more visually literate, they are more likely to pursue artistic endeavors. Research indicates that a significant proportion of individuals express interest in artistic careers, such as singers, actors, and musicians, reflecting a broadening participation in artistic creation among the populace.

However, by focusing only on the superficial aspects of the issue and overlooking the broader essence of art, proponents of unrestricted art creation overlook a critical point. From my perspective, while artificially generated artworks may visually appeal, they often lack the depth of creativity and originality essential to genuine artistic expression. Computerized models possess technical capabilities to visualize users’ imaginations into real images, but their artworks frequently lack creativity and originality. These automated creations, although technically proficient, fail to embody the essence of art which prioritizes conveying profound messages and igniting creativity among audiences.

In contrast, the creations of talented artists, driven by their passion and skill, breathe life into the art industry and inspire humanity. Works like Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa endure through centuries, leaving an indelible mark on human civilization with their depth and creativity.

In conclusion, while advancements in technology and visual education empower more individuals to create art, I maintain that the most profound and enduring artworks stem from talented creators. These artists possess a unique ability to convey messages that resonate deeply with society, enriching human experience and leaving a lasting impact on our cultural heritage. Thus, while technology democratizes art creation, true artistic mastery remains the domain of those gifted with innate talent and creative vision.
