While many people want to focus on implementing stricter laws for drivers to have road protection, others believe that enhancing road facilities is better. In my opinion, the government should tighten laws for traffic participants.
It is understandable why many people believe that improving road structure is the best way because of the convenience. When people can move on wide and flat roads with many lanes divided by vehicles such as trucks, buses, motorbikes and pedestrians, they will not face dislocations, overcrowding that causes an accident. If people can have modern road facilities such as lane markings, traffic lights, and warning signs, they will feel safer. For instance, in Vietnam, the government decided to set up cameras on the road to punish some people who do not stop at red lights to avoid accidents because it makes them pursue the laws better. However, there are still some situations in which vehicles do not stay in their lanes.
For some people who agree with giving laws for drivers, I also agree with this point of view because traffic laws can help police control and limit traffic accidents. Most laws are set up for people to follow when participating in social activities; if they violate them, they will receive punishments. This helps improve people's self-awareness because they do not want to lose money or have their driver's license confiscated. For example, currently, in Vietnam, the government fines heavily and even confiscates driver's licenses for those who drink and drive. This has limited accidents caused by alcohol
In conclusion, I still believe that the government should focus on giving laws for people to protect the population when participating in traffic.
