Spoken communication is more powerful than written communication. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Communication plays a substantial role since the ancient time so far. Whether communicating directly or via hand-writing, many are of the belief that verbal communication has more advantages than written ones. In my opinion, speaking can indeed be a very efficient way to exchange information, however, writing is more appropriate in some circumstances.
On the one hand, face-to-face communication proves its power in almost activities on a daily basis. In this kind of communication, a good gesture, including body language and facial expression, has a big impact on the first impression of listeners, that written forms can not do the same. Moreover, it is easier to emotionally connect with listeners in verbal language than in non-verbal ones, inspire and influence others, as we can see clearly in many Ted talks shows when speakers are asked to give speeches in front of a big number of audiences. Furthermore, spoken communication plays a vital role at studying, which was seen in Covid-19 time when students gradually got bad scores because conveying ideas via some meeting applications was not as good as doing it directly at class.
On the other hands, written communication is more suitable with almost formal occasions. Clear written forms help people refrain from misunderstandings and misrepresenting, especially in the modern world today with full of tabloids. Besides, in some legal procedures, people are usually asked for having written forms, which are used for legal foundation and judgement. The importance of writing is evident in contracts and compromises in employment market, which printed pages are more reliable and are used to making sure the rights and the responsibilities of both employers and employees as well.
In conclusion, both kinds of communication are influential in their fields. While spoken forms affect to the mind and emotion of each individual, written ones are more powerful in reaching legally decisions.

Communication has played a significant role throughout history. Whether through direct conversation or written messages, many argue that spoken communication holds more advantages than written forms. In my view, speaking can indeed be highly effective for exchanging information, yet writing holds greater relevance in certain situations.
On one hand, face-to-face communication demonstrates its strength in daily interactions. During such conversations, body language and facial expressions greatly impact listeners, something that written forms cannot replicate. Additionally, emotional connections are easier to establish verbally, enabling speakers to inspire and influence others, as vividly observed in various TED talks where speakers engage with large audiences. Furthermore, spoken communication is pivotal in education, as evidenced during the COVID-19 era when students faced difficulties conveying ideas through online platforms compared to in-person classroom interactions.
On the other hand, written communication is more appropriate for formal occasions. Clear written expressions help prevent misunderstandings and misrepresentations, crucial in today’s world filled with sensationalism. Moreover, legal procedures often demand written documentation, serving as a legal foundation and aiding in judgments. The significance of writing is evident in contracts and employment agreements, where printed documents ensure the rights and responsibilities of both employers and employees.
In conclusion, both forms of communication wield influence in their respective domains. While spoken communication impacts individuals’ minds and emotions, written communication holds more power in legal decision-making processes.
